这首推荐的歌依然来自福音乐队Kutless。自从在lastfm上听了推荐的I Do Not Belong后便喜欢上了Kutless。这首Promise of a Lifetime取自于他们于06年发行的第四张专辑<Hearts of the Innocent>，相对于他们的硬摇，还是更偏爱这些温婉柔情的作品。但我从歌词中听到的，不是这些基督徒对上帝的心灵诉说，而是一段感人至深的生死恋情。

虽然人鬼殊途，阴阳相隔，但当海誓山盟超越了生死的挑战，短暂的爱情也仿若成为了永恒。"我知道你在那里，倾听我的每个祈祷。我会挚守诺言，不离不弃。" 被这种令人震撼的坚定所深深打动，虽然不希望这种生死离别的悲剧发生，但却多么期望自己也能拥有这分执着的爱情。而在现实中，这种感情真的存在么?......

MV不是Kutless的官方版本，而是超人迷们自制的视频，截取的都是Smallville中Clark和Lois的桥段。情不自禁想到Clark与旧爱Lana那6年里分分合合的情感纠葛，想爱却不敢爱的心结，以及命运的作弄，将这对本该完美的恋情无情地拆散。相比命中注定的C&L恋，或许Clark与Lana这段不再的青涩恋情，又或是Clark和Chloe间的那段令人扼腕的错失，更符合这首歌的意境吧。
